StudentsU ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly when you create an account or complete your student profile: name, email address, academic background, target countries, and intended field of study. When you use our AI-powered features, we process your queries and profile data to generate personalised school matches, document drafts, and visa guidance. We also collect usage data (features accessed, search frequency) to improve the service and enforce fair-use limits. Payment information is processed exclusively by Stripe and is never stored on our servers.

2. How we use your information

We use your data to: • Power AI school matching, document generation, and visa guidance • Personalise your in-app experience based on your academic profile • Send deadline reminders and product notifications (with your permission) • Process and manage your Pro subscription via Stripe • Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and bot activity • Comply with our legal obligations We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties. Ever.

3. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases: • Contract: We process your name, email, and academic profile to provide the Service you signed up for. • Legitimate interest: We process usage data to prevent abuse, improve the Service, and enforce fair-use limits. Our legitimate interest does not override your rights. • Consent: We send marketing and reminder notifications only with your permission. You can withdraw consent at any time in your device notification settings. • Legal obligation: We retain certain records where required by law. 4. AI processing

StudentsU uses third-party AI services to power its core features. When you submit a query or request a document, a version of your profile data and query is sent to our AI providers for processing. We apply security measures to protect your data in transit. AI providers process data under their own privacy policies and are contractually prohibited from using your data to train their models.

5. Data sharing

We share your data only with: • Our cloud infrastructure and authentication providers • AI processing partners (as described above) • Stripe (payment processing) • Apple / Google (push notification delivery) • Our transactional email provider All third-party providers are bound by data processing agreements and applicable privacy law.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time via Profile → Account → Delete account. We will process your request within 30 days in accordance with GDPR and applicable law. Anonymised usage aggregates may be retained for analytics purposes after account deletion.

7. Your rights

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission, access controls, secure token storage, and session enforcement. Stored documents are protected with access-controlled storage. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to protecting your data.

9. Children

StudentsU is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of StudentsU after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
