Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using StudentsU. They govern your use of the platform and describe your rights and responsibilities.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using StudentsU ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

2. Description of service

StudentsU is an AI-powered university admissions guidance platform that provides school matching, requirements verification, document drafting, visa guidance, and related features to students seeking to study at universities globally. StudentsU is an information and guidance tool. We are not a licensed admissions counsellor, immigration lawyer, or registered education agent. Nothing in the Service constitutes professional legal or immigration advice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use StudentsU. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

4. Free and Pro accounts

Free accounts include limited monthly usage of AI features, school searches, and advisor questions as described in the app. Pro accounts unlock unlimited access to all features including Dream School Tracker, Visa & Immigration Guide, and Personalised Document Generation. Pro is available as a monthly plan ($4.99/month) or an annual plan ($29.99/year). Subscription fees are non-refundable except as described in our refund policy (full refund within 48 hours of purchase).

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: • Use the Service to generate false, misleading, or fraudulent content for submission to universities or immigration authorities • Share your account credentials with others (single active session enforced) • Attempt to circumvent usage limits or access controls • Use automated tools or bots to interact with the Service • Reverse engineer, copy, or resell any part of the Service • Violate any applicable law or the rights of third parties

6. AI-generated content

StudentsU uses AI to generate school matches, document drafts, visa guidance, and other content. This content is provided for informational and drafting purposes only. AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and editing any AI-generated content before use. We strongly recommend cross-checking all requirements directly with institutions and consulting qualified professionals for immigration matters.

7. University requirements disclaimer

StudentsU provides university admissions requirements information for guidance purposes. This information is regularly updated but requirements change frequently. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any requirements information. Always verify requirements directly with the institution before applying.

8. Intellectual property

The StudentsU name, logo, and platform are the property of StudentsU and its developers. StudentsU™ is a pending trademark. You retain ownership of any content you upload or input. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to process your content for the purpose of delivering the Service.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StudentsU and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to unsuccessful university applications, visa refusals, or reliance on AI-generated content. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months prior to the claim.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time via Profile → Account → Delete account. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. By using the Service, you agree that any legal matter arising from these Terms will be handled under Illinois law and, where applicable, federal law of the United States.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." StudentsU makes no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee that any school match, document draft, visa guide, or other output will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your specific situation. You use the Service at your own risk.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless StudentsU, ETrey LLC, and their officers, employees, and agents from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: • Your use or misuse of the Service • Content you submit, generate, or share through the Service • Your violation of these Terms • Your violation of any third-party right, including the rights of any university or immigration authority • Any claim by a third party related to AI-generated content you submitted without proper review or verification This obligation survives termination of your account.

14. Dispute resolution

If you have a dispute with StudentsU, please contact us at team@studentsu.org first. Most issues can be resolved quickly through direct contact. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally within 30 days, both parties agree to resolve it through binding individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in Illinois. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against StudentsU. This clause does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief from a court where necessary.

15. Force majeure

StudentsU is not liable for any failure or delay in providing the Service caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control. This includes but is not limited to internet outages, third-party service disruptions (including AI providers), natural disasters, government actions, or any other event we could not reasonably prevent or anticipate.
